Stuck For Stocking Fillers? Try These!

Stocking fillers are one of the fun traditions at Christmas – lots of random goodies which keep you entertained on Christmas Day and don’t get used beyond that.

Over the years, my mum has managed to nail the balance between silly and useful. She still does the stocking for me even though I’ve moved out because she’s an angel.

So, I’ve had a go at mimicking her style to bring you 10 stocking fillers – some whacky, some wonderful. Stocking fillers don’t seem to be as cheap as they used to be (does that make me sound old?) but I’ve tried to stick to under £7.

1. Coco Pops Chocolate Lip Balm | Find Me A Gift, £2.99

I feel like this could be one of those things which sounds better than it is. Lip balm is always handy come winter time, though, and it’s an item my mum never fails to include. Seen as though I’m doing my best to imitate her flare for stocking fillers, this one had to make the list.

2. Emergency Tea Bag Tin | Qwerkity, £3.99

The saying goes that tea solves everything, so why not make sure the tea lover in your life can carry around a stash for emergencies? It just makes sense.

3. Animal Blowing Bubbles | Berylune, £4.25

Whether you’re a little kid or a big kid, bubbles are always fun. They’re maybe even twice as much fun when they’re this cute.

4. Gingerbread Star Shaped Candle | Next, £4.50

You can’t go wrong with a candle during the cold, dark months! If you really want to capture the scent of Christmas, is there a better choice than gingerbread?

5. Grow Your Own Pussy Cat | Prezzybox, £4.99

Now, you’re not likely to benefit from the many ways cats are amazing with this substitute, but it would be a bit of fun. Look on the bright side: you miss out on the smelly litter trays with this version!

6. Fidget Fob | Mankind, £5.99

You know those people who just HAVE to keep their hands busy? Well, here’s a stocking filler specifically for them. It has a variety of buttons and switches to play with. The convenient small size makes it slide into a pocket with ease.

7. Polar Bear Cosy Socks | Accessorize, £6.00

Fluffy socks are a must in winter so I’m sure you’ll agree that these would be an excellent stocking filler.

8. Blossom Birds Hand Cream Trio | Cath Kidston, £6.50

The pretty packaging alone is enough to make me want to buy this for someone. From a more practical standpoint, the creams contain shea butter to moisturise and nourish skin.

9. Animal Cable Bites | FIREBOX, £6.99

With six animals to choose from, including a penguin and a dog, these are an adorable way to liven up your charger! They look pretty funny. Nom nom nom.

10. Clipit Camera String | IWOOT, £6.99

If you know an Instax lover like me, this is a good way for them to display their snaps!

The fidget fob is SUCH a great idea, totally going to get one for my other half. PLUS it’s on sale and is £1.97!

      Yay! Everyone loves a bargain!

Wow, Ruth, these are some fab ideas. And better still, they are proper stocking fillers, not a list of over-priced products that most of us would deem normal Christmas presents at best or tat at worst. Flora would love the bubbles, I would adore the socks, and Alan would be made up with the fidget fob. Stocking lists sorted, thank you, you fabulous lady! xxx

Yay! Something for everyone! It winds me up when websites have things under “stocking fillers” which are either way too big to even fit in a stocking, or far beyond the budget! x

100% would love to receive that emergency tea bag tin; I love me some tea & I’d much rather pop my tea bags in that rather than a basic little sandwich bag haha x

These are some great stocking fillers Ruth! I fancy the Coco Pops lip balm for myself and the tea stash tin would be perfect for my friend. These would make great Secret Santa gifts too.

I feel like I need the gingerbread star shaped candle just for me! Bubbles are such a fun idea- I feel like they’re marketed just for kids but would actually have so much fun if I got them in my stocking! These are some great inclusions!

I think it’s hard to resist playing around with bubbles if you’re given them – good excuse to revert back to childhood! 😉 x
