Ha, I relate to pretty much all of this list – and I’ve only been blogging six weeks!

I love this list so much, Ruth, I don’t know how you do it but you ALWAYS nail it, haha. This is a fabulous list, I agree with them all but especially 01, 09 19 and definitely 30. And I’d add that “You know you’re a blogger when your husband and/or daughter buy you something just because they thought you could use it for a blog/Insta photo!” xxx

I sat through this blog post nodding along to everything you’ve said! The Instagram one, though… man, that hit me hard. I have such a love-hate relationship with Instagram. I love the creative challenge of creating better images as time goes on, but it’s so frustrating when your content isn’t being engaged with. I’m constantly taking ‘breaks’ because Instagram isn’t a great source of traffic for me and I’d like to focus on other social media platforms, but I love the ‘stories’ feature, so I’d love to work it out! The Twitter one is great, too–I’ve been on it since about 2011, when I used to follow and obsess over celebrities like Justin Bieber, but it’s become something so much more than that. I never thought it would become something so supportive, but I love the community!

I regularly have to take breaks away from Instagram, too, because I get so fed up with it. Like you say, it seems such a waste of time to put effort into it and see no growth whatsoever. It’s a shame, because it was such a great platform before they started playing around with it and making changes all the time.

      • 2nd November 2018 / 10:36 am

It’s a shame that so many people feel the same because it has the potential to be such a good app, and I’m sure it does work for some people, but I much prefer the way it used to work!

  4. 31st October 2018 / 11:39 am

This is so accurate! Mine would be you know you’re a blogger when even though you’re actively blogging you’re still reluctant to call yourself a blogger because you don’t feel like a “real” blogger. Thanks for sharing!

That’s so true! I went into my old workplace the other day and an ex colleague asked what I’d been up to and I said “not much”. Neal then asked me why I didn’t tell her I was a blogger and my response was “that feels weird” πŸ˜‚

  5. 31st October 2018 / 12:05 pm

This post is so brilliantly accurate Ruth, I was reading and agreeing with every single one! My notebook collection is getting ridiculous now. Everything needs to be assessed for its blog prop potential. I can’t go to a supermarket without checking the Home section for things I might one day need for blog photos. My to-do list is never ending and I actually have no idea what I did with my time before blogging! Ha ha! I would also add: You know you are a blogger when you have a huge stash of gift wrap/wrapping paper which is brought just for photos and not for wrapping presents. Fantastic post, so true and relatable! Also, that Born To Blog t-shit is super cool <3 xx

I love this post, I think it is brilliant end I pretty much said yes to everything! My notebooks haven’t grown yet though, so number two is still in question. πŸ˜‚ I have learned so much and have made so many great friends, and I never knew Twitter could be utilized like this! I would have so much free time if I wasn’t blogging! πŸ˜‚

Oh gosh… If this list ain’t totally accurate! Especially the last few bits. Sometimes it’s difficult to keep up with everything that it takes to be a blogger – there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. This list definitely made me laugh at how accurate it is though!

Haha so many of these are relatable. I don’t have an Instagram account so have no idea how true that is. I doubt people would be interested in what I could offer that way so don’t use it (though haven’t ever so who knows). The “I could write about that on my blog” is something that I say a lot of “I have a new idea for a blog post”. I have said both out loud. I love getting comments or likes though and makes my day. I really appreciate them and feel guilty if it takes me a while to respond to them.
